Frequently Asked Questions
We are so excited to work with you in preserving your flowers and memories.
Please read through these most frequently asked questions on our process.
How soon do I need to book?
We strongly recommend booking 2-3 months in advanced or even as soon as you know your wedding date to secure booking. With that being said, we can accept last minute orders.

Do you accept last-minute bookings?
Yes! Don't hesitate to reach out; we will do our best to accommodate you! Email: azelielittleflower@gmail.com
We can take bookings any time up to four days after your event date. This ensures that your flowers still can be in good condition.
What if I have an event date change?
Please contact us as soon as possible when you know your day will change; as we do require a date to be able to maintain your booking.

Do you work with memorial flowers & bouquets?
Yes. We have worked with many clients florals from memorial events, funerals, baptisms, and anniversaries. We are so very honored to have the opportunity to preserve something so meaningful.

Can I book my date now and then decide on what product to order later?
Absolutely! You may contact us directly or complete the inquiry form. Please note: This type of order requires a non-refundable $150 deposit to book your spot.

How do I book and pay for my order?
After submitting your inquiry, you will be contacted via phone. After an Introductory Call, you will receive an email detailing your order along with a request for a 25% non-refundable deposit to secure your booking. Upon receipt of payment of the invoice we will record your order and booking date on our calendar.

Do you have order minimums?
No, we do not require you to have an order minimum.

How & when do I ship my flowers? If I live local, can I drop off my bouquets?
We send a detailed email with instructions on how to hand-deliver or ship your florals. If you are local to San Diego, CA the preferred method is hand-delivering your bouquet. We recommend overnight shipping within 3 days of your event. Prior to your blooms being delivered, keep them in water with fresh cut stems. Avoid getting petals wet. Do NOT place in fridge/freezer.

Can I send extra flowers to have a keepsake created for my mom, mother-in-law, maid of honor or bridesmaids?
Yes! Many brides choose additional keepsakes (add-on frames, Marian floral art, rosaries, etc). We ask you to ship additional florals to make this possible - centerpieces or extra bridesmaid arrangements - so that we have enough to create beautiful keepsakes.
I need to change my shipping address, how do I do that?
Please send us an email with any order updates.

How long does the process take?
The turn around time varies with demand, but you can expect your flowers to arrive 4-6 months after drop off. Pressed flowers take about 2-3 months to dry, depending on each bloom. We will carefully inspect each bloom once dried and then move into the design stage. We will contact you to schedule a Design Consultation, and eventually for final approval of design.

Can I include my wedding invitation/photo/charms/ribbons/etc.?
Yes, wedding invitation can be included in a pressed flower frame. We recommend the 11x14 frame if you want to add an invitation or picture. If you want to add charms, macrame, pearls, ribbon, etc, they need to be no more than 1/8" - 1/4" thick. Please note that a double matted frame will be required for these elements. We will discuss these details during our Introductory Call and Design Consultation. Please be sure to include these items at drop-off or in your shipment.

Do you have options for different style frames and wood types?
Yes, if you'd like a specific style frame it can be custom ordered for your bouquet. We are able to source a wide variety of frames and styles. We also have resources for custom exotic wood frames. We will discuss options during your Design Consultation.

Do you return leftover flowers back to me?
We do not send back unused flowers, as we select the best flowers to be used in your forever piece. We will dispose of leftover flowers two weeks after your piece has been shipped out to you.

Do you provide photo mock-ups of the dried flower placement for approval?
A mock-up will be sent for approval. Two design changes are included with your purchase. Additional design changes will be an additional $100 per design.

Do you color correct your flowers?
We color correct white flowers to help them stay white over time. Please specify if you do not want this.

What flowers press best?
Here is a short list of flowers that press well: Acidanthara, Anemones, Baby’s Breath, Poppies, Caspia, Carnation, Cosmos, Dahlia, Daisies, Delphinium, Eucalyptus, Ferns, Freesias, Greenery, Hellebores, Hydrangea, Larkspur, Lavender, Lilac, Orchids, Pansies, Peonies, Poppies, Queen Anne Lace, Ranunculus, Roses, Sunflowers, Spirea, Spray Roses, Sweet Peas, Thistle, Tulips, Violet, Wax Flower, Zinnias.

I heard that pressed flowers colors change and fade over time, is this true?
Not all flowers preserve the same--some will look different preserved than when they were fresh. While the overall look of your flowers will remain the same, you should expect color changes on most of your flowers. Natural fading will eventually occur over time and is considered normal. We color-enhance very light, all-white or pale-colored flowers to help them keep their pigment longer.
Every flower responds differently to the preservation process and even two of the same flowers can be slightly different in tone, shape and size. Some flowers preserve similar to their fresh form, but some can change tone:
- White florals can preserve with a yellow/brown/ivory hue. White florals are truly unpredictable and many elements factor in the way these florals press and preserve. It must also be known that white flowers will continue to change as the years go on. This is part of the natural press and preservation process.
- Red florals can deepen and darken with a dark red or purple hue
- Light Pink florals can lighten or darken with a mauve/grey/purple hue
- Dark Pink florals can darken with a purple/mauve hue
- Purple Florals can deepen and darken with a dark purple/black hue

What tips/suggestions do you have when ordering my bouquet?
-Consider adding a bit of color to an all-white arrangement to help white flowers contrast and standout in the end product.
-Reflex flowers are all the trend right now, but these do not look their best pressed due to petal busing during the reflex process. Ask you florist to include non-reflexed blooms to your arrangement for the best results.
